Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from the Regional Meeting?
CGMC lobbyists will give a quick overview of the 2025 legislative session and the outcomes that will impact your city. After the brief presentation, the floor will be open for any questions, comments, or discussion about legislative outcomes – or anything else you want to discuss with the CGMC and your fellow city leaders. While CGMC staff will come prepared to facilitate the conversation, our intention is for our members to guide the discussion towards the issues that they feel are most relevant to their communities. Most importantly, dinner and dessert will be provided!
Is there a cost to attend?
There is no cost to attendees for this event. All we ask is that anyone planning to attend the meeting RSVP so we can make sure there’s enough room – and food – for everyone!
Who is invited to the meeting?
All elected officials and city staff from CGMC member cities and prospective members within the region are invited. All we ask is that anyone planning to attend the meeting RSVP so we can make sure there’s enough room – and food – for everyone!
Is this different than our usual city visit?
Traditionally, the CGMC has made an annual effort to visit each member city individually, usually at city council meetings or work sessions. As our membership has expanded, it has become more and more challenging to make sure each of our 120 member cities gets a visit every year – there are only so many council meeting days! We’ve also heard from city officials and staff throughout the state that they might prefer to engage with the CGMC in a more informal and inclusive context. Based on this feedback – and the success of last year's pilot Regional Meetings – the CGMC is introducing a Regional Meeting format for some areas each year.
