Public Labor & Employment Law Update

Enactment and enforcement of laws and regulations on labor, wage, hour, leaves, and other employment issues continue to evolve. In addition, grievances, lawsuits, and agency claims against employers continue. Employers can take proactive measures with policies, procedures, and practices that will avoid or mitigate the legal, financial, morale, and public impacts of any laws and claims. This webinar will explore newer laws employers must comply with, related claims they must defend, and steps they can proactively take to resolve potential claims.

  • Chris Hoodecheck, Senior Attorney, Flaherty & Hood, P.A.

Chris Hoodecheck is a senior attorney at Flaherty & Hood, practicing labor and employment law with a focus on litigation. He provides legal expertise to public-sector clients in a range of areas, including labor contract negotiations, grievances, unionization efforts, and personnel performance; employment data practices, policies, and procedures; compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws; and workplace investigations. Chris joined the firm in 2023 with an extensive background in civil litigation.

  • Brandon Fitzsimmons, Shareholder Attorney, Flaherty & Hood, P.A.

Brandon Fitzsimmons is the head of Flaherty & Hood, P.A.'s labor relations, employment law, and human resources practice. Brandon represents, advises, and provides analysis for dozens of public employers in labor relations and employment law matters and has been with Flaherty & Hood since 2004.

Registration is required to attend the webinar. The cost for attendance is $50 for staff and elected officials from CGMC member cities and $75 for non-members. If you have questions about CGMC membership status, send us an email.

The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be shared with registered attendees after the event.
